{ DIRECTING }
"One of the things I love about directing is I love actors, because no matter how complex they are, once you get down to working and talking to them and the toughest guy will want you to open them up and he wants to show you stuff he was afraid to show anybody before." - James Brolin

Grandpa's Mixed Up Luau by Tammy Paikai, adapted by Tami Maldonado-Mancebo and Jackie Kappes
Jackie directed Grandpa's Luau at The Rose Theater in partnership with the Native Indigenous Centered Education program. The play explored a simple tale of the planning of luau gone wrong, with traditional Polynesian folklore woven in.
Several of the young people had recently relocated from Tonga to Omaha, and were particularly excited to share their stories. The show was open to all Omaha Public Schools, and nearly 3,000 students attended performances of Grandpa's Luau.

Jackie directed Charlotte's Web at The Rose Theater as a part of their summer drama camp. The students below attended a three week camp that concluded with multiple performances of Charlotte's Web. All costume and set pieces were either pulled from stock or created by the students themselves.
